TO INAPP ACTIVITIES & INFORMATION

InApp and Simulation Activities: Information

• Simulation Practice and Quiz activities: Simulations are web-based and do not require Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign installed. Ideal for Chromebook/tablet users or those without Adobe applications on their computer.
• InApp Practice activities: Include step-by-step instructions and animations. Scores shown at the end help determine readiness for a graded assessment (Quiz); these scores are not part of your grade report.
• InApp Practice and Quiz activities: Require the application software available on your computer.

Step 1: Set up your Download Folder

• Set up a folder on your desktop or where your teacher recommends.
• You will be downloading actual Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign files to work with. It is best to save them in one location.

Step 2: Select your Activity

• Choose the Practice or Quiz InApp activity.
• Choose to work in the application or select the simulation activity.

Step 3: Additional Activity Options

• Some activities may only be available in Simulation. This will be stated in the course.

Step 4: Download the InApp Activity File

• Select the “Click here to download” button and download the file to your designated folder.

Step 5: Add the MSi Courseware Extension

• On the Menu bar, select the Windows tab.
• Select "Find Extensions on Exchange (legacy)".
• Go to the search bar and type "MSi".
• Select "Install Now", then "Open" (close application if open), select "Install" and "OK".

Step 6: Open the MSi Courseware Instruction Panel

• If the Add-in does not appear in your document, select the Window tab, Extensions (legacy), and MSi Courseware.
• The MSi Courseware icon will be in the Commands Group subgroup.

Step 7: Sign into the Instruction Panel

• Open the MSi Courseware Instruction Panel and log in using your course credentials.
• Close all other application windows while working in the MSi InApp.

Step 8: Related Files

• Any additional files required will be located here for each activity or quiz.

Step 9: Required Tasks to Complete

• Each InApp Practice activity will have a Required tasks to complete area.

Step 10: Begin the Activity

• Each step in Practice InApp activities will include an MP4 showing detailed instructions.

Step 11: Dialog Boxes in Activity

• After opening a dialog box, you will not be able to scroll or view animated instructions. Watch instructional gifs before opening dialog boxes.

Step 12: Detach and Move the Panel

• The panel can be detached and moved anywhere; drag it from the top and resize as needed. Double-click to dock it back.

Step 13: Restart an InApp Lesson

• To restart, close the application and reopen a fresh file from the MSi LMS course page.

Step 14: Check My Work

• Select the “Check My Work” button at any time to see your progress. To continue, close out the Current Score section by clicking the X.

Step 15: Continue After Completion

• Once the lesson is complete, select Continue.

Step 16: Complete and Close

• In the Practice Complete box, select Close.

Step 17: Close the Application

• In the "Please close the document" box, close out the application by clicking the X at the top. If prompted to save changes, select "Don't Save".
