MICROSOFT WORD 2016

Word processing programs allow you to create a variety of document types, from simple letters to detailed reports that are complete with charts, graphics, and tables. Built on the same premise as all the Microsoft Office programs, the Word application window has some very useful tools right at your fingertips. Starting with the Word Interface, an overview of the various features of Word 2016 will start you on your journey:

• Toggle Sidebar: Select the Toggle Sidebar icon to view thumbnails. Select icon again to collapse the thumbnail view.
• Find in Document: Select the search icon and type in your search word and press enter. Select icon again to collapse.
  • Select the Find in Document icon
  • Type in search word or phrase
  • You can choose to highlight all occurrences and/or match case.
  • Use the previous and next occurrence arrows for simple navigation
  • Select the Find in Document icon to collapse it, leaving the highlighted search items.
  • To remove the search items, delete the word or phrase and select the Find in Document icon to collapse it.
• You can choose to highlight all and/or match case if you like. (not required) The number box shows how many matches there are in the document.

Navigation & Zoom

• Previous & Next Page: Use the arrows for simple navigation to next & previous pages.
• Automatic Zoom: You can zoom the reading lesson by using the Zoom Out & Zoom In arrows. You can also select the Zoom dropdown arrow for other options.
• Tools: Select the Tools icon for more options.
